Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Nikola Selaković met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain José Manuel Albares Bueno in the framework of the first official visit of President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić to Spain in Madrid today.
Ministers Selaković and Albares stated that the relations between Serbia and Spain were extraordinary, expressing satisfaction with the frequent meetings at the high and the highest levels.
Minister Selaković, who met with Minister Albares recently on the margins of the OSCE Ministerial Meeting in Stockholm, invited his Spanish counterpart to visit Belgrade.
Reiterating his gratitude to Spain for respecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, Minister Selaković informed his interlocutor about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the updates on the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština.
He warned of constant provocations and the fact that Priština was not implementing the obligations undertaken by the Brussels Agreement, while, on the other hand, Belgrade has been committed to dialogue, peace and stability in the region.
Minister Selaković also expressed gratitude to Spain for its support for Serbia's European integration process, emphasising that Serbia remains firmly committed to one of its most important strategic goals, which is full EU membership.
In addition, the two Ministers discussed expanding economic cooperation and further harmonising economic partnership agreements between Serbia and Spain.
