Тhe Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Kingdom of Spain, Irena Šarac, presented letters of credentials to the Episcopal Co-Prince of the Principality of Andorra

Тhe Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Kingdom of Spain, Irena Šarac, presented letters of credentials to the Episcopal Co-Prince of the Principality of Andorra, H.E. Joan-Enrique Vives and Cecilia. The formal ceremony of presenting her letters of credentials was held at the Episcopal Palace of La Seu d'Urgell, in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Andorra Ima Tor Faus and the personal representative of the Episcopal Co-Prince, Eduard Ibáñez. In conversation with H.E. Joan-Enrique Vives and Cecilia, Ambassador Šarac emphasized Serbia's commitment to improving overall relations with Andorra, especially through the intensification of political dialogue, as well as through the further development of cooperation in various areas.

This ceremony, and following the presentation of letters of credentials to the French Co-Prince of the Principality of Andorra President of France Emmanuel Macron in September of this year, completed the formal process of accreditation of Amb. I. Šarac as non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Principality of Andorra, based in Madrid.


Opening of the Book of Condolences at the Embassy

Following the terrible tragedy and loss of life in the collapse of the Novi Sad railway station structure, we inform the public, with deep sorrow and sadness, that the Book of Condolences will be opened at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia (c/Velázquez, 3, 2º floor, 28001 Madrid), on Monday, 4 November, from 10am to 5pm.

The Government of the Republic of Serbia has declared November 2 as the official Day of mourning for the tragedy in Novi Sad.

Our thoughts are with the grieving families and loved ones of those who died. We pray for the speedy recovery of all those injured in this tragic accident.


Work visit of Ambassador Irena Šarac to the Principality of Andorra

During her first work visit to Andorra, the non-resident ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to this country, Irena Šarac, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Andorra Imma Tor Faus, the Speaker of the Parliament of Andorra Carles Ensenjato Reiga, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Mònica Bonell Tuse and the Minister of Tourism and Trade Jordi Torres Falcó.

In the conversations, mutual readiness and commitment to improve overall bilateral relations was expressed, highlighting the importance of intensifying political dialogue and cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. During the meetings, special attention was paid to the upcoming EXPO 2027 in Belgrade, with the expectation that Andorra will participate in this great and important event. That same year, on June 1, 2027, the two countries will celebrate 20 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
