Meeting of Ambassador Šarac with the Spanish Minister of the Interior, F. Grande-Marlaska | Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Kingdom of Spain

Ambassador Irena Šarac met with the Spanish Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, to discuss opportunities and proposals for further enhancing cooperation between the two Ministries of the Interior. In a very substantive and cordial meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the excellent cooperation that has been maintained over an extended period in this area. They agreed that police cooperation between Serbia and Spain is at a high level, primarily focused on the joint fight against all forms of organized crime, where commendable results have been achieved in recent years.

Minister Marlaska spoke very favorably about the bilateral police cooperation between the two countries, stating that the quality and effectiveness of this partnership could serve as a positive example and model for many other countries.

Both sides confirmed the high level of overall bilateral relations, and on Serbia’s part, special gratitude was expressed to Spain for its consistent respect for international law and the UN Charter, as well as for its principled position on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija and its full support for Serbia’s integration into the European Union.
