Meeting of Ambassador Šarac with the First Vice President of the Spanish Senate, Javier Maroto Aranzábal

On February 20, 2025, the First Vice President of the Senate, Javier Maroto Aranzábal, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia, Irena Šarac, in the honor hall of the Upper House of the Spanish Parliament. During the meeting, they exchanged views on parliamentary diplomacy and the possibilities for further intensifying parliamentary cooperation between Serbia and Spain.
Ambassador Šarac took the opportunity to express Serbia's deep appreciation for Spain’s principled position on the non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called "Kosovo" and for its support of the Republic of Serbia on its path toward EU integration.
In a notably warm atmosphere, views were also exchanged on numerous other topics, with a focus on bilateral cooperation between the two countries and global challenges in the current complex international political landscape.
